  • @JManCity ....if the car has to climb a gradient, the engine can kick in and help. If we consider the typical 50 mile range of an electric car, naturally we want to increase it. Adding $3000 worth of batteries and motors, due to their extreme weight, gains about 18 - 20 miles, yet adding $3000 of engine and genny adds 250 - 300 miles. Also there's still plenty of oil out there for the next century believe me, even so we're seeing biofuel now too. But who knows what the future holds :]

  • @JManCity I think you have a couple of points there, but I disagree for a few reasons. I don't think that electric cars will have a stronghold on the car market. Also I looked it up, yes part of the car is made from recycled materials, but as of yet the batteries are not and won't be for some time. Normal cars use recycled materials too. In my opinion, hybrids, or E-REVs perhaps using a small 2 cyl diesel engine are the future, with their increased range and durability...continued

  • well the Nissan Leaf (pure electric) is made of PURELY RECYCLED METERIALS! EVEN THE BATTERIES!!!! so... SHUSH YO SELF!!! Also, the government subtracts $7,500 from the price of ALL PURE ELECTRIC VEHICLES!!! Also, the Nissan car company, being as inovative as it is, also subtracts $2,000. So, the total cost winds up to be CHEAPER THAN A PURELY GAS POWERED CAR. End of debate, electric is the future, also gos is non renewable and theres not alot of gas left on earth, eventually it will be gone soon

  • hahaha with byd electric cars it makes any hybrid car look like a joke and wtf is the point of hybrids? they still pollut

  • @huskysglare1 i have a 30 year old panal van parts are dirt cheap maintenence is cheap because its the dead basics, why cant we have Fuel and oils that will run our current engines from plant based products.

  • @hambone9119 If we keep going on the path we're going with Petrol cars, the Earth will be polluted and will become a wasteland. It's a good thing Electric cars are becoming more popular. The batteries in an electric car can be recycle and reuse. The cost of repairs for a 10 yrs+ old car is staggering. The cost of repairs will continue to rise the longer you have your car. Battery replacement costs will decrease. I like the way the industry is moving. Cleaner environment.

  • @huskysglare1 People will always want an American Or Australian Style Noisy muscle car, As far as im concerned Electric cars are disposable Batteries 5 to 10 years lifetime, vs a well built mechanical machine that last 100 or so more years, it is more plausible to make Plant based petrol for the current engines we are running today. and they all look so asian and round no offence, I like my cars big Noisy and powerfull.

  • It will take AT LEASE 10-20 years before electric cars can take over the whole entire industry.
