No, that was the .30-06 M1 Garand "en bloc" clip/magazine.

@peptopro17 I think a .30-06 going off would be more likely to give away your position than the ping of an empty clip being ejected. Just sayin...

you can actually see the bullest flying

@MrShawn305 thats true but if they herd the ping they knew you were out of ammo and reloading

@peptopro17 no that was the M1 garand which was a 30-06 cal it was a cannon! and soldiars would get around that disadvantage by throwing an empty mag. on a rock to make that cha-ching noise and wait for the enemies heads to pop up from behind cover

nice rifle!! i love those rifles

The M1 has been on my list of to-buys for almost 5 years and it was just this year that I finally decided to acquire one - an M2 Carbine actually. The price seems to have doubled in the last 5 years so decided I must get one now. Truly a must-have for collectors and shooters alike.

Dude, i really like how you give detailed descriptions of everything.

So so many ppl made parts for that gun it was unreal

M1 Carbine - love to take new shooters to range with M1 - easy to shoot, easy to hit offhand up to 25 yards - do 50 yards with support. New shooters,especially women have great fun with it. Tula ammo from Cheaper Than Dirt, Texas $12/box of 50. Lite mist of WD40 in action first and no jams. Great defense gun with CTD 30 carb SP ammo $24/box of 50 no jams straight up. 2" groups at 50 yards easy with both ammo. Lovely young ladies are very well armed and deadly with M1 carbine.

Great video. Any tips on buying a used m1 carbine? Any way to tell whether or not the barrel is still good? Thanks.

@46spoony
Just take a good LED and look down the barrel. After you confirm the gun is not loaded, of course. I saw an IBM 1943 at a gun show yesterday. Although I did not check the barrel, the stock and external metal parts where as good as condition as this Inland. They were asking $975; I paid somewhat less for mine in 2011.

This gun has been on my short list for years. I mean years but it always seems to get leapfroged by something else. After seeing this maybe it's time.

Do it before it's too late. Everytime I visit a gun shop I look for one. If I find another in good condition and for the right price, it's bought.
