Recorded at The Torrington, Walthamstow, 23/1/1987 By Jonathan Landau...
Ok, it's in mono, and the tape ran out just as the band were ending the last song of the set ( so no encore ), but hey, i've dusted it off with Audacity, and the guys were in great form that night - Graham was testing out a new guitar - a black strat - and Gary was in a playful mood, so it serves as a great document of the band at that time - one of the best things about the set is just how many songs they play that aren't on the Showdown album - Money Makes A Man, Slaughterhouse 5, Technology Versus People, New Frame Of Mind, Out On The Town, and their ill fated single, Infantryman...anyone got a copy of that...?
The black strat scorches on Mistreated, the boys trade banter between tracks, baying drunks bawl out requests, and the gormless chuckle you may hear after Graham's 'first public rehearsal' remark at the end of Technology Versus People is my only claim to fame in this life...never mind nostalgia, just enjoy the vibe...
Track listing - Wild and Windy Night, So Fine, Hard Pushed, Money Makes A Man, Slaughterhouse 5, Mistreated, Technology Versus People, New Frame Of Mind, Tell Me Why, Let It Rain, The Smattering, Infantryman, Count Me Out, Firing Line, As The Years Go Passing By, Out On The Town.
Little Sister - Graham Foster - Guitar/Vocal - Gary Brewer - Guitar/Vocal - Malcom Hoskins - Bass - Andy 'The Bombadier' Wells - Drums/Vocal
