Frank-N-Dank - All Seasons (Unreleased Original Version) (prod. by J Dilla)

A rare beauty for all my Dilla fans out there!

This is the original version of Frank-N-Dank's "All Seasons". Because of copyright issues and sample clearance problems they got no permission to put this version on their first album "48 Hrs".

And guess what sample caused all the trouble? Labi Siffre's "I Got The", which was already famously flipped by Dr. Dre for Eminem's "My Name Is" and Jay-Z's "Streets Is Watching". Well, it's a crazy world, isn't it?

Same thing happened to "Where The Parties At?" which originally sampled Mtume's "Juicy Fruit".

However, enjoy and remember as Dilla used to say: TURN IT UP! A LITTLE LOUDER!!!

Wooooooow!!!! Have you got the samples album? I know MCA didnt wanna clear the samples from the original album turn in and Dilla went back and re did the beats without the samples, all synths. Where did you find this? Thanks for posting!

yeah thats right, i think this was one of the reasons frank-n-dank broke up with MCA after the 48 hrs album. in fact, even the 48 hrs album without the samples was released as a bootleg version only.

someone on discogs, who's a big dilla fan as well sent me this track, but i really don't know how he got it. but the original version of "Where The Parties At?" available on the "Push" 12" single still can be found with a little bit of luck on ebay etc. for example.
