Annette Funicello was probably every guy's calendar girl during the late 50s and early 60s, with her innocent, dark beauty and cheerfulness, first apparent at the Disney studios as a Mouseketeer and in such films as "The Shaggy Dog" (1959), "Babes In Toyland"(1961), "The Misadventures Of Merlin Jones" (1963), and of course the Beach Party films, that immortalized her along with Frankie Avalon and Tommy Kirk. She also recorded serveral albums, and despite acclerating multiple sclerosis, Annette continues to be a delightful presence with her optimism and determination. The song is of course by the one and only Neil Sedaka. Again, my apologies for the brief skipping of the song at the beginning. Happy viewing!

  • today's teen idols would do themselves a great favor to take a page from annette's book, rather than from madonna's or britney's.

  • Now, only being 20 years old, I was obviously not around when Annette was at the height of her success, but she seems like a pretty classy lady.

  • Annette , you were such a good actress. I loved to see you in the mini series on Mickey Mouse. I related to the girl you were in them. You were the biggest infulence of anybody in my life. I wore my hair like yours. I felt like I had the same personality. Thank you for being that good role model. I am just a little younger than you. . Pray for a miracle healing for you. You hold a special place in my heart. Love you.

  • @johnrunion A truly great artist amongst so many pretenders. One forgets over time the impact Anette made on the world. Thank God for you tube, and loyal fans that post. God Bless Anette. Her beauty, talent and charm are truly eternal.

  • @GonzoGuyy i agree!

  • @johnhrunion Absolutely. Annette had beauty, charm, class, wit, and style. Something sorely missing in the young talent of today. her beauty was external and internal. They would have been no flashing the good, or nude pics to her boyfriend from Annette. Fourth time tonight. Her beauty and talent is eternal. God bless Annette.

  • Okay, i think Annette is beautiful and talented and i totally love her, but people need to stop bagging out the female artists of today. You're only looking at the ones who set a bad example for the rest. Just because they don't dress or act like Annette, that doesn't make them bad role models, just current. I'm sure older people in Annettes generation looked down on her and how she dressed.

  • The ONLY "IT" Disney girl that's ever lived to this day!!!

  • mickey mouse girl disneylandia,, remember?

  • A very sweet tribute, with a touch of Niel Sedaka.

  • @yowzephyr

Actually, if I remember correctly, she had her nose altered more than once. It got thinner and smaller as she got older. Like you, I saw nothing wrong with her Mouseketeer nose. Everybody loved her and nobody was saying, "If only she'd do something about that nose". Annette was the whole package and her nose was part of it. There was a big change in her nose in her beach party movies. She was always a cutie, even with her original nose.
