This is my mother, Mama Katherine, 84 1/2 years old and nearly blind with macular degeneration.
Her mother, Irene, my grandmother, used to sing and humm this song lot.
I love the words and music and feel like I was kinda raised on it. It sticks in my head.
I requested it be sang at Maw-Maw's funeral many years ago in the 70's.

@Ivoryticklermama I love the way Mama Kat sings the first verse with her soft, gentle and soothing tones; then comes the lovely harmony on the chorus. I like the way Miss Joan comes forth on the second verse with great power and a sense of determination in her voice; she believes those words she is singing. AMEN!
