  • Just to set the record straight, I am part owner & founder of Foxfield Riding School which is a public riding school in Westlake Village CA, not a boarding school. We have taught kids to ride this way for over 50 years and started the Foxfield Equestrian Team in 1967. The team has performed throughout the United States and this video is from a performance they did many years ago. It is in no way related to Pat Parelli or anyone else outside of Foxfield.

  • The Foxfield girls have developed relationships with their horses to the point that the horses *want* to do whatever the girls want to do; it's not an adversarial situation between horse and rider. That said, a horse can feel when a fly lands on him. It's not difficult for him to feel when a rider stops actively focusing and riding forward, maybe taking a big breath and letting it out to relax the seat. To back up, the rider brings her feet forward to cue the shoulder area.

  • damn they are good!

  • Amazing! Parelli is so good! That's true partnership! :)

  • This is amazzing! I did this with my girl once and she has a real clumsy canter gait because of past injury, but I gave bareback and bridless a go. Bareback was fine but once I let go of her mane I fell off :L And jumping was a nightmare until I put a halter on :L

  • I seriously can't get my head around how they do it!

  • wow this is good riding ! how long did it take you to get to this level ?

  • @JAPostel Say hi to Billy from Lonni! I used to work with him at Yamaha in Simi. I took lessons at Foxfield also. I seem to remember Winston and Grandma.

  • this is amazing i love it way better than that parelli crap everyone thinks this is :D

  • @iEvent88 I think Parelli is so known now as natural horsemanship by so many people, that people just automatically say parelli its not a big deal people. Its just good riding your right I mean I watch videos and studies and I use my own methods mixed with parelli and other methods I mean This can be done by anyone with the will and practice and strength to do it!! It is useless to argue everyone we will always have different views on this... My view is GREAT VIDEO,great horse and rider

  • @huntersnob Whatever....Your comment shows a lack of integrity and comprehension of the point being made so go away, you are wasting my time. Bye

  • It is great to see a riding school teaching the basics from the start. Not many of those around and full of kids. You don't need bits, spurs and saddles to control a horse. Horses know this. What I find awful about this exibition is how it reveals the true nature of how pathetic human nature is displayed in the comments below. If only a miracle happened and horses could all of a sudden speak. Foxtell is what it is and give credit where credit is due and the same for Parelli...stop knocking.
