My Toxic Friend

I'm going through a very rough time right now. I figured I'd use my energy for something creative instead of something destructive. I put together this video using photos and video clips of my drinking habit, ranging from 1994 to last year. Right now, I'm trying to stay away from alcohol and it's very difficult. I've made several attempts to quit over the past few months, but I keep going back to old patterns. It's holding me back from becoming a better me.

When you're drinking every day and not enjoying it, it's time to say "enough is enough."

The song I am singing in this video is called "Don't Leave Home" by Dido. Sorry if it sounds like crap. :P

I've never commented on your videos before, but I've watched pretty much all of them. I have found comfort in knowing that I wasn't the only one out there living in the grey area of gender.

This video is amazing. It is awesome that you are making positive changes in your life. Two of my best friends are struggling with an alcohol problem, and I was addicted to credit cards and probably spent over $40 thousand on who knows what, just to fill the empty spaces in my life. I have nothing to show for it. My family has tried to help me multiple times, and I kept letting them down, by going back to overspending. I'm doing better than I was, but I have to struggle to not just spend money.

referring it as a "friend" i was really bad at some point in my life were i felt like i was trapped and my life was the same damn routine !

Hi im 19 years old ... I went a bit crazy after leaving school and drank too much

i got health problems which means im going to be on medication for the rest of my life .. i dont feel well and never will

Once youbegin to understand howto replace your drinking with something else, it's the greatest feeling in theworld, a feeling of empowerment and achievement, it can be anything, exercise, sports etc..but be careful because you feel that great you also feel invincible so you say " i can have a couple drinks" and YOU can aslong as youdon't overdo it. There's nothing wrong with having drinks, but don't let it get to the point where it dictates your life. Don't ever giveanything that power of you.

I think that you did a great job with Dido's song. I am also in a battle to rebuild a life after leaving my best friend, my lover, my old life companion. I wish you the best of luck and I know that it can be done. We can do it. :)
