Dave is Chuck Norris' long lost twin brother, separated at birth. They can both turn Giardia-infected water into cans of whoop-ass.

I wonder if your system gets used to some of the pathogens over time. I've seen some of the Amazon indians filter water from the side of a creek just like Dave is doing here and they suffer no ill effects from drinking it.

thanks for the videos dave!

@wrenbrrd listen closely, he says it doesn't kill pathogens. But if Ur life depends on it and u don't have any way to disinfect the water, filtering it thru the sand gives you a fighting chance

I guess you knew that this particular water was alright to drink? (...since you were sipping from it without treating it.) Or are you implying that a few sips wouldn't hurt? Please let me know. Thanks for this, and for this great channel! I just watched the 11-minute video on primitive water purification. Fantastic! I'm going to subscribe now.

Is this a particular safe way to drink? Do i have to worry about bacteria or is it all filtered through the ground?
Interesting..
If you were to loose your water container for some reason could you drop in a few drops of iodine? If you had it.

@markshmily Remember that water is seeping constanly in this hole so for this purpose a liner would be advised, garbage bag or whatever you had.

Does the bank need to rock/sand, or could it be regular "soil" with grass and plants growing on it??? How about Southeastern clay??? Happy Thanksgiving Dave!!!

@drumgodtim Any media will work just some better than others

Could you heat rocks and drop them in and boil the water that way?
surgicalshot 1 year ago
@surgicalshot Yes but new pathogeons would seep in from the ground as evaporation occured, you would need a liner before boiling
