A Toyota T100 with severe frame rust (frame rot), which is clearly a result of faulty manufacturing as well as a safety issue, and how Toyota refuses to accept any responsibility.

  • My friend had exact same model & meticulously cared for his truck. He noticed excessive rust on the frame & removed rust & coated it, but ultimately got rid of it because the A-frame was rotting away just like mine has. Never said that ALL t100's had this issue. As for Toyota's recalls on Tundras & Tacomas, anyone who doesn't think they did this because they had to is naive. It's interesting that we have 2 other vehicles driven in same conditions Saturn & Honda without this issue.

  • keep buying unamerican

  • Is it for sale?

  • @CanarianDrifter stupid fuck ur really stupid

  • LOOK before you buy

  • To be honest i don't see any car manufacturer standing behind this. I own a 96 t100 and i feel your pain. i live in harford MD and have almost no rust, 140k miles. I don't know what to tell you other than your luck just sucks. im sorry to see this happen to a t100 but you really can't expect toyota to help you out. it really is 15 years old +. part er out. parts for this truck are rare. hell that front are rear bumper are worth 600$

  • I also am having problems with Toyota Motor Sales USA regarding my 2002, 66,700m Sequoia. The frame is rusted and has a hole. Toyota recalled the Tundras and Tacomas becuase of the same problem. They left out the Sequoias. An estimate from the dealership to replace it $16,500. There are thousands on the road with the same problem unknown to their owners. If you have a Sequoia have it inspected and file a complaint with the NHTSA and with your Attorney General. Toyota should be held accountable.

  • I feel bad for you man I really do. I'm a master tech. And this is a very well known issue. However. A yearly undercoating would have kept this from getting this bad. also keep in mind your truck is over ten years old. Were you the original owner and had you had all your services performed at the dealer this would have been caught much sooner and Toyota likely would have fixed it. I have a 97 with 318k no rust. I'm in TN.

  • Why is is that vehicles from the Snow/ Salted roads have this problem with everything steel eaten up with rust?

I lived in Pittsburgh, PA for 3 years as a Mechanic, every vehicle that came in had been eaten away from salted winter roads.

Maybe You should sue GOD for making snow and salt ???

    I have a 97 T100 with 270,000 miles with NO RUST ......

    Why ??

Cause I take care of my vehicles, and I live in TEXAS where they use Gravel and sand on snow and iced roads..

GET A LIFE, and another car.

  • man dont trust them gook car ramps!

  • Hey i had the 1998 4runner , and i had the same situation! i replaced the lower control arms and removed rust from everywhere possible only to no avail. i sold it on e-bay and never would by a toyota truck again..It seems that when you purchase there trucks as soon as you get it , you have to take the body off to expose the frame and parts, then seal and treat it yourself to keep them from rusting..never again!!!!good luck to you..
