jerry lee lewis plays end of the road wich was released not long before the recording of this one. this song is the B side of his first single called crazy arms. it was on a tuesday the fourth of december in 1956. elvis wasn't a sun artist anymore but just visited the sun studio(sam phillips had just sold him to RCA), while carl perkins was recording with jerry lee as a session pianist (trying to earn a litle money, he wasn't famous YET). sun president sam phillips called johnny cash to come over, and that's when the famous picture was made. this is one of the songs on the album "the million dollar quartet".
