Vernice Armour's lists of accomplishments and "1st" are long and varied but her true passion in life is community outreach and being a positive role model for youth. She's an author, speaker, trainer who works with both Corporations and Community Groups.

Vernice has excelled in a wide variety of areas in life; from becoming the first African American female combat pilot in U.S. History, she's enjoyed both academic and athletic success.

  • The title on this video (the blue screen title at the start) is stupid. It calls her the "first african americn female pilot in history" which is ridiculous, she isn't the first by a long shot. (Look up Bessie Coleman in the 1920s)

Just putting "combat" into that sentence (combat pilot) would have made it a useful informative flash screen about the video to follow... rather than a stupid falsehood which is what it actually is as it stands.

  • Well done Captain. Job well done. This shows every dream is achievable with enough determination and support

  • @Bloodgod40 Sir

You are correct. The blue title page should have read:1st African American female naval aviator in the US Marine Corps & America's 1st African American female combat pilot in US military history. But that would be a long title. Thank you for your time.

  • not proud of her.

  • @19Truth53 Yeah, really smart people like YOU, right? Think YOU could fly a Cobra? Didn't think so. If you have no use for the military then you shouldn't be using the internet, they invented it, douchebag.

  • I read about her in the book "Band of Sisters", very interesting woman, saved many lives on the ground. Funny part was that they other pilots called her "Junk" ... as in junk in the trunk. She has her own book now called "Zero to Breakthrough", I gotta check it out. God bless you Vernice! Thank you for your service!

  • I dont get it, they scream "Equality" and "We dont want to be treated any different", but they still want the fuss made over them by everyone and the excitement etc... Takes the accomplishment right out if. True professionals dont want accolades or big noteing, they just get on with the job quietly and away form the lime-light.

  • That must have been one LAME class, obviously. Most really SMART people have no use for the fucking MILITARY, anyway.

  • @19Truth53 She graduated #1 in her flight school smartass. That is plain hardwork, not affirmative action.

  • why does the corporate media praise people succeeding with weapons?

  • @Livercool92 they beat your army using nothing but farmers with sticks so who are you to talk?

  • BiG Fucking deal. Affirmative Action at work, in arguably the most dangerous way. Aunt Jemimah at the controls. HA!
