Shocking Story, 5% of maintained vehicles on the roads in NZ have the same emissions as a poorly running 1970's vehicle. This is a very bad statistic and something needs to be done. So Why isn't the Government doing something?
They are, but what they are going to do, doesn't work and it's proven not to work. It's called the Emission Rule which will cut out an estimated 85% of vehicles that came into NZ in 2011.
This may seem like a good thing, but by limiting supply, it will drive up the price of cars and force people to repair their older cars and keep them on the road, some of those cars will be unsafe, some of those cars will not have been repaired properly.
There is a better solution to clean up NZ's quality of air and it's available now.
Emission Testing New Zealand Ltd has been testing vehicles in the NZ fleet for many years, they have tested thousands of cars and have developed an emission inspection system suitable for NZ, but the Government doesn't want to know.

Why Not?

Please sign the petition and help stop a law that's only purpose is to raise the cost of our living.

When I started getting ready to make the first video on the emission rule titled, "The 2011 Emission Rule Video Petition, Uncut" I had no idea what would happen, I was hoping for the stars, but as the hits showed the message was not getting passed along. Not only that, I had placed myself in a position where I had to prove what I was saying.
I did not have the finances to undertake the task as I would have hoped, there were no script writers, no actors (and certainly no models), no camera man, sound, lighting, etc, etc,... (bar one time, no gas for the car) however, the above video which I am pleased to bring you, is the best I could afford.
If you happen to like it in any way, shape or form, it will be because of the video editor's skills and talents at being able to make the impossible,... possible.

Thank you Gabe Lunte and Mike Taylor for sharing that talent, thank you Victor Povstenko, Shiho and the various people who provided either interviews or inspiration.

I say this sincerely, because as is with all good things, they can't be done alone.

Now, if you've read this far and not yet signed the petition,... go and kick your own ass for wasting another second. Sign it, it was made for you, and you need your vote to count, because one day you may die as a result of polluting cars or be violently obliterated off the road by some old hunk of junk!

Now more than ever, "together", we can make some good and change things for the better

  • If approximately 28% of carbon emissions are generated during manufacture of a vehicle wouldn't it be beneficial to use what we all ready have? Why have you not discussed other options instead of boasting about these 'Test centers'. I suspect that someone has their hand in the honey pot.
