I own one of these, it's a nice machine, the OS is very nicely tuned and the concept is great. Sadly the company now seems to be in a bit of trouble and the promised OS updates have not arrived since mid 2008. This is naturally bad for security and also for general support. Aside that it's a great little piece of kit, though a tad slow especially compared to similar low powered ARM devices coming out next month. Recommended with a little caution for grandma and grandpa.

seems sweet, dno if i'd wanna spend 15$ a month just for software support. buy 99$ for a working base system? great! and 279 (if I remember) for the laptop is great! OLPC will be ealisitic in a few years
