  • Even with no cheats and less 350 turns, it is highly unlikely you have that much gold, while maintaining such a large army with all the cities and castles looking like cities and citadels :(

That is at least 8,000,000 upkeep each turn

  • @jeehwanlee Many of the units you see in of the cities are militia, which can be have free upkeep. I only kept stronger units in my "at risk" cities and my armies.

  • man thats asome but do u have a money guide for this?

  • Sadly not. I don't honestly remember how I played through this. All I remember is that I didn't use cheats for sure.

  • @jeehwanlee on rome total war I have 60 settlements, loads of full stacks all over the place and have a 300k treasury no cheats, I try to get rid of my money by going on spending frenzies but it doesn't ever go down and corruption is high due to it.

  • @jackamatyus no i mean why they can't be defeated?

  • @300McLovin No idea. Realism maybe - most of Europe is Catholic during the game, so to not have a Pope would be unrealistic.

  • @jackamatyus is there a legitimate reason why creative assembly made the papal states that way?

  • @300McLovin There might be a mod, google it. To be honest, the only time the Pope is a real nuisance is when he tries to stop you attacking other Catholic nations. If there are none left to attack, he should be fine. Besides, the Pope will always be from England if you are the last, so he will always favour you (unless you attack him). But then all he can do is cause unrest in your settlements (no crusades/attacks against you, due to no Catholics being left).

  • @jackamatyus but the pope or the papal states, at that point, shouldn't be a nuisance, right?

  • @jackamatyus is there a mod where you can make the papal states defeatable?

  • @300McLovin But as soon as you recruit a new priest (Catholic), a new Pope is elected. Although, if you aren't Catholic then the Papal States are truely destroyed as there are no other ways of making new Catholic priests if all other Catholics are removed.

  • @300McLovin I don't think so. The Papal States doesn't really ever get destroyed. Technically you removed the faction when you took their last settlement, and it's just the Pope who is left. On the scroll where you see the Pope's favour (i.e the list where you can see how much the Pope likes each faction and from where you can call a crusade) it says something along the lines of 'There is no Pope present. The Papal seat remains open'.

  • @jackamatyus at that point, would a little scroll come up and announce that the papal states are defeated, then?
