  • As far as I can see that's not really ass-to-grass at all. That's just about deep enough for a regular squat though. I'm pretty sure you need to go far below parallel to call it atg. How come you do your squats in the smith by the way?

  • @ObliquusExternus cause it targets more the quads in my case, 90% of guys are not mechanically geared for free squats just like Arnold, he was never able to do them well. if you have the same ratios as Tom platz then yes you can

  • Ass to grass= disease to the knees.... no reason to go past parallel; unless you want to have your kneecaps replaced surgically.

  • @femfireto Dude when you have like 315 pounds on your back you need the neckbad or your traps feel like they're gunna pop lol I don't know how anyone can squat heavy and not wear a neckpad cause the bar kills my traps/neck when I don't wear one. Just my opinion though.

  • squatting to grass should be used temporary cause then your glutes work too n sometimes during contest prep I see guys with huge butt and small but well separated quads. IMO

  • squatting in a smithmachine with a neckpad = girly

  • and the best! NATURAL!
