Here’s your chance to shine and make me look like a fool. Why aren’t you taking it? Prove from publically-available information that the police presence on the ground for the first seven hours consisted of more than two constables crouching in a ditch trying to avoid sniper fire.
Interested persons can always contact Tasmania Police and Victoria Police for a timeline. As they have nothing to hide, I’m sure they’d be only too happy to oblige.
@HangMartinBryant OK, so how long did they take? Funnily enough I never thought the district had its own SOG but how long does it take to fly by chopper from any point in Tassie to any other-they could've flown from Sydney in the time it took-7 hours-correct me if I'm wrong. And why has Youtube got that I posted my last comment 1 day ago when it was closer to a week? Is fiddling with the chronology of comments intended somehow to minimise the impact of embarrassing questions?
@HangMartinBryant Before the helicopters arrived 7 hrs later (Did they take the scenic route?), the police response consisted of the 2 local coppers who were crouching in a trench pinned down by gunfire and unable to intervene effectively most of the time. Is this the response you were referring to? The report very sneakily gives the impression the police response was continuous, timely and appropriate.
This report is interesting for what it leaves out as much as what it includes. IIRC there's no mention of how long it took the police to arrive-5, 6 hrs?-clue us in Hang Martin Bryant. Would it have made the police look bad to have mentioned that?
BTW Youtube sometimes marks perfectly legitimate relevant non-threatening comments as spam or even blocks them altogether.
If you got a phone call at that stage with someone saying a gunman is on his way after killing 25 people (allegedly) you would bloody well take it seriously. And godammit when she watched on the news later that evening she saw all the carnage with her own very eyes and so did millions of others round the world. I wonder if everyone in the neighbour hood got that phone call. You feel sorry for the police in cases like this with very little resources phones jammed by hundreds of people panicking
your free to contact them then :)

How do you fake a funeral? Have a ceremony with actors and no body in the coffin.
