Shooting a Lyman .54 Caliber great plains black powder Muzzleloader at Hot Wells shooting range. This was the first time we shot it. Amazingly it was dead on at 50 yards and we did'nt have to dink around with sighting it in. Enjoy!

  • would have been better without the rock music blaring. the info about your gun and loading info would have been helpful

  • Very true.. I kinda went the Montage route.. kinda lame i know sorry about that. However an instructional your right would have been alot helpfull. not many pieces to it tho I use a full charge on the black powder Jim shockleys FFG 120 grains i believe maybe 140

  • wow !!?? open Powder Bottle and shotting sparks...here in Germany we need,(must) a examination for Black Powder write down, I hope you understand why ?

  • ha ha i own a 54 caliber myself fucken near impossible finding sabots for it

  • @jacksbark I noticed that..........is the powder can lid laying next to the can? And he is shooting? Anyhow, not trying to pile on, just something to watch. Great video!

  • Two things;

    Are shooting with the powder jug beside you with the top/cap open? One spark is all it takes and .... boom!

    Get yourself a 'palm saver' for helping with the ramrod ... its a small ball of wood or plastic with a hole drilled in it that you put on the top of the ramrod for that last few inches ... it really gives you some power for seating the ball and saves you from driving the end of the ramrod into your hand.

    Good luck with your shooting (I also shoot the '54 cal)
