Jay Alexander interviewed CCC alumni at the Annual Florida CCC Alumni Reunion held at Highlands Hammock State Park on November 7, 2009.

Mr Sidney Mander now lives in Arcadia, Florida, he retells his experience in a CCC Camp far away from his home in Sandwich, IL in Camp #3694 under the US Forest Service that was 20 miles from the Columbia River in Washington State in 1939.

He worked in the snow out in the field and collected and burned the brush piles in the winter. And later installed telephone lines and worked in the tool shop in the camp.

He calls for the reactivation of the US Civilian Conservation Corps for our younger generation and our country would get dividends from their work in years to come. It made you get along with your fellow man and become conservation minded.

See the website for reactivation for green jobs at www.wecantakeit.org.
