I too thought this woman was crazy. I just came back from lake George, and was amazed it is actually true.
It has nothing to do with the walls as they are too low and the space is too open
Also the echo/amplification effect only works when you are almost directly on the crosshairs. If you are a foot away you hear nothing.
I and others in my group all tried this. I wasn't drunk, stoned, nor mentally challenged (although some days it appears so).
Pretty cool.

loooll i live right down the street from this so called mystery, all she had to do is ask anyone from the area and they will tell her its basically just a joke ,it just the way that spot is constructed lol not a mystery
-
Wow your so stupid
-
Please, investigate this for me...an elementary science textbook.

If that's true, then how come when you say something in the opposite direction of the wall, it doesnt echo? and i know it doesn't, because i tried it.

@ offmychain I guess your idea of entertainment is going to clubs or a bar getting hammered and say what a good time.

TRUEEEE I DID IT!

stupid bitch its the low walls

This is true, and has been proven by officials who studied the "mystery spot" --if you were to drill a hole straight down through the earth you will end up in the indian ocean. Now, in records from history: people wrote in diaries saying they can"hear the spirits talking to them" in the indian ocean and the mystery spot. So it's always been there even before the CONCRETE circle that was built just for that one spot was there. Therere 2 other locations in the adirondacks that have the same effect
-
So I take it that this town has very little to do in terms of stuff like.....entertainment. Gee, let's all go down to the circle.
P.S. I predict ALPO, or whatever the groups name is, doesn't have much equipment on ther hands for investigating REAL mysteries...or members who know how. Just my guess though.
Hard concrete base + hard surface low lying wall = sound reverberation. aka: echo... imagine that
