My son George and four of his friends cycled 967 miles from John O'Groats in northeast Scotland to Lands' End, southwest Cornwall, between 16th July to 1st August 2007. I grabbed video clips of places we stopped at in Scotland while my daughter Rosie captured the arrival at Lands' End. The actual start was rather under-stated but we did our best at the conclusion with champagne showers, beer and chocolate cake.
Scotland is more spectacularly scenic than England, which is perhaps why I stopped filming once we crossed the border. By the way, don't believe the signpost mileage at Lands' End. That's just the direct route!
My husband Len, and I, were the support team for this venture, travelling in Bertha, the camper van. You can read the story at http://gagejogle.blogspot.com/ and see photos at http://www.flickr.com/photos/suonnoch/sets/72157601194740851/
The boys raised £1180 for Cancer Research through this adventure.
