Art of Ballet

My eyes are drawn, not to the flame
But images within a frame
Of shadow dancing silhouettes,
Small figurines in pirouettes

These ballet ghosts as they rehearse
On stage intended for a verse

To silent music shadows prance
To silent dreams the spirits dance
In quivering light of candle's glow
They spin and waver to and fro

My eye in hypnotizing stare
At dancing feet that aren't there

In early glow of rising sun
I saw what dancing flames had done
In every spot a foot was placed
A ballerina's slipper traced
Her swirling marks across the stage
And etched this poem upon my page

i swear this music was in disneys beauty and the beast. you know when the rose is on screen, its not, but almost EXACTLY the same. i might be starting ballet soon. im a bit late being 13 but i just love it sooooo much! x chloe x

I remember seeing the New York Ballet in Los Angeles. After the show I was to meet with the First Cellist. We walked to the hotel with the ballerinas.

Their feet were really torn up. Scabs everywhere. I guess standing on your toes does hurt as much as it looks.
