Then, this synthesiser (as others) has the ability to reduce sample rate or bit resolution as a distortion algorythm in the FX section over the synthesised signal.
When you apply this, signal gets broken in a rate or a numeric parity ...
So, in general, is just breaking the wave... something impossible in the analog domain, but completely in digital.
like in real world, the difference between ordinary and quantic-multi-dimensional... haha!

Sounds come from a synthesiser. In this case a digital one but it creates virtual-analog synthesis.
the collection of points is result of that Synthesis.
Digital instruments use digital signals, but because of a high sampling rate and bit resolution they can make 'smooth' signals to the human eye and-or to the hearing sense.
But it's still a digital (non continuous) signal.

This is cool. Watching the curves, you get to notice things about the sound that are really subtle otherwise. Are X and Y the same wave or different parts of the circuit?

Good Question!
I program my sythesiser with two independent oscillators and theyr output are independent too, But effects affect the whole synthesis... Then x is Left and Y is Right in the oscilloscope.
