would you say a regular gas engine would consume less fuel than a gas turbine engine?
which one would be better in your opinion?
-
If you can afford the fuel - the unit should be no sweat ;) They do draw a lot of fuel.
This unit was around 8000 USD if I recall correctly (about two years ago)...
The unit I had was in pristine shape - the combustor was totally undamaged, and the oil had been changed (on the gearbox regularly), as well as all PM performed.
There are a LOT of electrics on the thing as far as control systems - that can get intimidating...
You wouldn't happen to have the Western Electric KS number for that unit?

Could you tell me were you got this unit, and if they have any more?

@Grishe69 Ebay - I've seen a few units on there in the past, but it has been a while. Some more modern than others. Do a search on Ebay for "solar turbine -wind" and that usually will catch 'em.

Hello, what is the speed of the turbine at 100% speed?
you know the speed of the generator at 100%? 1900 or 3600 or other?
Thanks
alejogoldsmith 1 year ago
@alejogoldsmith - The generator speed is 3600 RPM, and the turbine at 100% is rated at 37,059 RPM. The accessories (fuel pump , etc.) and generator head are driven via a gear reduction device that also uses the same lubricant the turbine does.
