U-M faculty and Ann Arbor business leaders attending the BioArbor meeting on October 12, 2011 had the opportunity to take a closer look at patent reform and the "America Invents Act" recently passed by Congress. Sponsored by U-M Medical School Business Development, the event featured a lively discussion of the ramifications of reform for inventors and entrepreneurs and delved into how the act will impact bioinnovation, locally and globally. The panel of experts included Robin Rasor, U-M Director of Licensing; Rick Brandon, U-M Associate General Counsel; Eric Sosenko, Partner at Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione; and Hans Sauer, Associate General Counsel for Intellectual Property at the Biotechnology Industry Organization.
