@PangeaSpreads Definitely something to be worried about. The Cold War of old days was just way better than today. At least, there were just two strong sides. Now there are too many sides. Oh well, at least if you're in the middle of the blast area, you won't ever feel anything. You will just be evaporated. It's more better than further away where you will die of cancer in older age. If only we can get cyber warriors to deactivate these nukes when they are online...

@SuperDave619 Of course, any nuclear capable country is not to be trifled with and scarily enough there's a lot right now, with the crash of western economies of late and America in particular borrowing trillions, major lender surprisingly being China, I am sure we will see the balance of power and military supremacy level out to cold war status but only now with many more countries having equal inputs in relation to military and nuclear capabilities which for me is a very worrying trend

@PangeaSpreads That's correct. But still, Russia is not to be trifled with. They still can be a formidable force, especially if it continues strengthening its relations with India and China as well as Brazil. A new Cold War beckons upon the horizon with China and USA facing off against each other. Russia also has 20% of the world's fresh water resources as well. This would be in a huge demand when water runs out. Unlike oil, we can't live without water.

@SuperDave619 Ha ha 170 typhoons can you imagine, you could nearly walk from russia to alaska if lined up straight (i jest) I think they are keeping just one active to 2019 as it stands, apart from the new Borei that should have been completed more than ten years ago due to lack of funds, the other subs are on photographic evidence and even take a look through google earth at Severomorsk, mostly neglected, Looks like they can barely keep a few going at a time and these are not great either

@harris3693 No ways in Wikipedia does it say over 170 Typhoons were made. Cause it says 6 there. Russia may have over 170 submarines but in no way they all are Typhoons. The Soviet Union were very secretive but Russia is not. Not anymore about their navy.

@SuperDave619 well, according to wiki, over 170 were made, there is no way all of them were scrapped, they might be in storage, but much is not known about the Russian naval arsenal as they went private about their naval size.

@harris3693 Actually, just 1 is in service and the 3 are scrapped. Only 6 were made so that leaves 2 but I suspect these are out of action so irrelevant. But the new Borei class should surpass this submarine class and be more advanced.
