Children do and will continue to die of starvation every day as long as the 1% continue to rule the world. There are enough resources for everyone on the planet but while we have a monetary system built on debt, social inequality and poverty will remain the norm.

I'm raising money tomorrow to donate to Share our strength. We can all do something to support these hungry kids.

Just watched again w my 5 year old daughter and my two year old son .. and they like it. . .
12.4 million American children are "at risk of hunger". And every year,15 million children around the world die of hunger. Die, as in death. That's not a "risk", that's a reality. I'm not saying American children matter more or less than children from another country, in fact, I think they all matter in equal measure, but I do believe we need to change our habits at a local scale, but with a global mindset. It's not just the US that's hurting, the whole world is suffering.

We agree that the problem is even worse in developing countries. But while other charities are doing what they can to stem the tide there, Share Our Strength is prioritizing its efforts to come up with repeatable local plans that eliminate child hunger altogether.

We are already well on our way to completely eliminating child hunger in four states in the US by 2015, and we are trying to replicate our processes for other states as well. Once we are able to show that our sustainable methods work, we can then start redoing these methods in all the countries across the globe.
