  • Since my daughter left my tuner at church I really have no idea what it's actually tuned to but I have it somewhere in the vicinity of high G (GBDGBD). The string set on it is made for a C6th but I don't know how to play in that tuning at all so I fudged it for this vid.

If you want to play electric bottleneck pick a guitar to dedicate to it, raise the action at the saddle a bit and put on a set of 12s. Open D or G are both good tunings.

  • Nice! What tuning do you use on those? I have tried slide a few times but all I get is the clack of the slide hitting the frets because of my iron monkey death grip. I think setting the action up way high like a lap steel might help me out.
