Experimenters Corner by: Lorrie Matchett. This wireless electricity device in which I designed using an 12-volt electronic ballast (28KHz) can wirelessly transmit enough electricity / current to charge a cell phone and a lot more....It took only 2 hrs & 15 mins to fully charge my phone from the full drain position with a 780mAh U-Polymar x 3.6v battery on board.. The charging current to the cell phone was approximately 136mA with a 1/4" gap between the two 1.5" diameter bifilar coils....I can reduce this charging time by closing the space between the coils... which will increase the charging voltage / current to 230mA. The actual voltage to the cell phone charger from the receiving coil under load is 67-volts a/c ( 1/4" gap ) and the output of this charger to the cell phone was 5.70 volts d/c...Important Note:..If you decide on building this device, it will be at your own risk....Electronic ballasts are dangerous due to high voltages generated, so be careful.....One more thing, all ballasts are not created equal....some will work better than others.....Keeping it simple, once again....( epowerplus@gmail.com )
