The Spychangers might have skills, but they're ultimately not that strong (they don't seem to be able to handle even the bumbling Predacon trio), so are joined by 3 additional team-mates.

The Spychangers were redecos of the G2 Go-Bots, which were designed to be Hot Wheels/Matchbox-compatible Transformers, featuring similar rolling action. They pretty much all have the same transformation scheme.

Hotshot, R.E.V. and Crosswise run into trouble handling the trio, so W.A.R.S., Ironhide and Mirage join them. Presumably to avoid introducing 6 characters at the same time.

That's actually Michael McConnohie (G1 Tracks....hell he voiced Charles Zi Britannia) voicing Ironhide. I actually herd him say that if the voice he made was under short notice and that would have prefered to do a more Peter Cullen esque voice.

It always amuses me how the Ironhide namesake has to upstage X-Brawn, who already had a southern drawl like G1 Ironhide. RiD Ironhide's drawl is cranked up to 11.
