Finally got out to hit some fall LM and shoot some more footage with the hatcam. We didn't stick any pigs but we did manage one fish at 3.5lbs and one between 3.5-4lbs. We ended up with around 25 Largemouth for the half day. 23 degrees in the morning and 60 by noon. Best baits were a jig/worm, jig/craw, senko, & rattle trap.

  • did you have a trailer on?

  • Great Large Mouth Bass catches!

  • @FishboiFishboi....depends on the water clarity and cover for your line selection. I use 20-30lb PowerPro on 90% of my baitcasters but I don't fish ultra clear lakes very often. I like Shimano rods....mostly the Shimano Clarus. They have an over the counter, no questions asked, lifetime warranty. They typically run $60-$70. I would suggest a 7' Medium or 7' Medium Heavy rod.

Oh yeah. how many lb line do you recommend for a 4bearing baitcasting reel? and rod length?

  • @bassman96

but um.... WHERE can i fish thats fairly productive this time of the year?

  • @FishboiFishboi....good luck!

  • @bassman96 oh aright. thanks for the tip. Ill be sure to do that. just bought a purple 3/4 oz today with motor oil 10in worm

  • @FishboiFishboi ...I usually work the jig on reed/coontail edges in about 8' of water. If you can hit deeper water from shore you should be fine. If your casting from a dock work the jig/worm on the outside weed edge.

man.. you needa hook me up.. lol anyways I do alot of shore fishing and the lakes around where i fish are mainly spawning grounds. I was wondering how would i fish with the jig and worm if Im from shore??? does it depend on depth? like fishing from the dock where it hits 10'

  • @FishboiFishboi .....it works best in the fall all the way to ice up. I tossed the jig/worm this weekend and hooked some nice fish. Biggest was 4.2lbs. Water was 42-43 degrees and some of the shallow calm bays were iced over.
