Hundreds of people are spending the night in the cold in Narok and Mai Mahiu following heavy flooding that has submerged their homes and farms. Accessing the villages is impossible and rescue operations cannot commence. 68 passengers narrowly escaped death along the Narok - Mai Mahiu road as the bus they were traveling was almost swept away.Rose Wangui with an update of the flooding situation in the country.

  • why cant we harvest this water and keep it, after a few months u will hear of drought again and the same people will be cursing.

  • These things are happening because there is no vegetation to hold the soil intact due to deforestation.

    On another level, the rains are so severe because of climate change that has resulted from many human activities, including deforestation.

  • u right human activity that include building homes on dry river courses...open and vacant spaces do not necessarily mean a lack of 'ownership' - nature owns it n no one can stop it.
