Well yes we use compressed air in industry like workshops to run power tools where it is possible to overcome the losses involved in running such systems but it will never even come close to fuel as far as stored energy goes to run cars and generators. Otherwise we could just get rid of diesel, gas or coal powered energy systems now and have our powerstaions running on compressed air?
