@Halo4Lyf well heck even if they knew their native language it didn't matter! The only printed copies of the Bible were called the Vulgate and were in Latin. Only clerics knew latin and had copies of it. The people took their word for it as far as what the bible said!!!

@talitakoomi What always confused me was, "How could so many of the people been fooled for so long to such an extreme?" Then I looked up the literacy rates at the time and it all made sense.

Quite the little scam racket the "church" had going on.....and the poor people didn't even have access to the Word of God to read for themselves the true way of God's shepherds-kept ignorant, and poor, on purpose. I'd just LOVE to see the popes trying to explain themselves before the Judgement Seat of Almighty God!! Puffing & blustering,".. but,but, You can't damn ME for eternity! I'm the POPE! Just ask St. Peter! He'll tell You!" And Pete will say, "Go away. Neither of us has ever known you."
