As a vocalist I'm always trying to learn more about the voice and new techniques and vocal tools for expression, right now I'm listening to some tuvan throat singing and I thought I'd share. From the album "Tuvinian Musicians, Throat singing from the center of Asia", tracks 4 and 6; "Ögbeler" and "Collection of Chöömej Styles".
thank you

I heard this kind of singing already, but in some places, this is absolutely fascinating. Especially the "trill" in harmonics, while holding the fundamental tone steady. I would be really interested to find out what he does to do that. It has to be done with the resonators, as the fundamental tone on the folds is completely steady. I learnd to trill by switching "u" and "i" on various intervals, but in connection to pitch, I can't imagine just trilling the resonator. I'm speachless.

I'm very familiar with Yma Sumac, I love her, but I don't know if she ever sang overtones and harmonics as the singers here

I think it's really amazing how they develop a technique to sing as much as 9 part harmonies O_O

Very interesting. I think it's a Mongolian technique or something, my music teacher back in middle school could do it :)
