Tomb Raider Underworld - Relic 4 - Mexico

Obtaining the relic in the Southern Mexico level of Tomb Raider: Underworld. Also includes treasures 49 and 50. This is the 4th relic of 6 in the PC/PS3/Xbox 360 game.

If you have problems getting the relic this way because Lara can't safely cross the blue eitr stream or roll through the small gap under the statue's arm, try this alternate version by LraCroft: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMyatOzUhSg.

I can't get past Thor's hammer from the stairs at 1:13. She just dies on that blue poison shit. I don't know why your game let you do that, but it will not work for me. Must be another way.

@trancedsailor Sorry you're having trouble, but there is an alternative described in my written walkthrough. There's no video but there are a bunch of screenshots. Help!!! when i got the belt lara was underwater how do i complete the game

I'm sorry but I don't understand how that happened. Normally you can't even reach the belt until you've drained the eitr from the whole lower area. Do you have an earlier save (or level-start autosave) you can go back to?

This is the PC game. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions are almost identical, though.

@stellalune thank you, I finally figured it out with the help of guides. I hate using guides, but sometimes this game pisses me off like no other game has ever pissed me off before. lol. Thanks again.

@humanbeldot You're not alone unfortunately.

This shortcut method is definitely a glitch and shouldn't be presented as the main solution in my opinion. It's at least certain that it doesn't work in the PS3 patched and trilogy versions. In the PC version, the gap between the hammer and the eitr liquid is wider. On the PS3, it's physically impossible to cross without touching the eitr.

I found every treasure and relic in this game on my own EXCEPT this one. I had a feeling the relic was going to be in this room but I was never quite able to wrap my mind around it. I feel kind of crappy now that I gave up, but thanks all the same for posting the nice video and helping me out.

Lol, I did the exact same thing for geting this Relic! The most simplest one out of the others to get, that's only if you use this method instead of the other long one, though I think this method was more like a glitch,that in the end benefited us:)
