I promised my mother when I was a young boy that I would take her to Ireland one day. Fulfilling that promise with my wife, we took my mother on a self-drive tour of Ireland in 2007. We toured Kilmainham Gaol which was both a wonderful and haunting experience. The history surrounding this place is chilling. The blood of Irish Patriots ran here. This is a must see stop on any tour of Dublin.

I visited Kilmainham jail a couple of years ago and what an atmospheric place it is. I later was told by a distant family friend that unknown to me I had been treading in my relatives footsteps!!!!
