NOTE: This run was not yet verified by SDA. Until then, please ignore the "verified: no cheating" on the stat ID. Although I did not cheat, it has not been verified as such by SDA yet.

So yea, this is my speed run of Mohawk & Headphone Jack. I received this game from romscout as part of the "mystery game exchange" at SDA. In fact, this was the first game that was traded for that exchange. After months and months of solid planning and research, I finally have a completed run.

I have a LOT to say about this game, but I'll save that for the run comments on SDA. I'll leave just a few notes here so the run makes a little more sense:

-Every level has some CD requirement that must be met before the exit appears. Every level also has a different CD threshold that must be met in order to spawn the bonus levels (those are the purple vorteces that appear). The bonus levels only exist to give you more CDs.

-Some levels have yet another CD threshold that will spawn a warp vortex. These can be red, yellow, or green. Red warps skip 3 levels, yellow warps skip 2 levels, and green warps skip just one level. I go in one of each. These often have such high CD thresholds that they require you to get a lot of CDs in the bonus stages.

-The second stage of every world has a boss fight. On those stages, although you theoretically need CDs to make the exit appear, you actually don't need any CDs in reality. The exit appears after the boss is killed, and the bosses spawn once you reach them, regardless of CD totals.

That is all I will say for now, I suppose. Good luck watching this without throwing up.

  • Who believes me saying that I have this game, and do NOT get a headache from it

  • @crashandburn115

    I believe you! ^_^

  • I had to pause this and come back to it later because I have a headache... I have no idea how you managed to run this game, or put up with it long enough to plan these routes. Bravo, you are a better, or at least stronger willed, man than I.

  • @xenwall

Haha. Thanks? It did bother me when I was first playing, but after a lot (a LOT) of practice it wasn't that bad. It doesn't bother me at all anymore, even on the really bad stages. I actually really enjoy this game now; after you get over how nauseating it is, it's a surprisingly deep game with good speed running potential.

  • I watched the whole run without throwing up once. Do I get a cookie now ? Jk ;-). Good job.

  • @ktwo3

Hahaha. Absolutely! Btw, I watched your Addams Family run when it was posted on SDA. It was really unbelievable! Fantastic job!

  • Why was I not informed that this game exists?

  • I have a feeling that if this game showed anymore of the map that a lot more people would be throwing up. lol I was able to keep up just fine, but trying to figure out just where the hell you were going on each stage, I will never know. haha

  • I want the title theme. Actually the music in general seems to be pretty cool.

  • fuck sonic!

  • @TheSuperSNES I didn't expect people to care much about the Addams Family run or to give feedback on it, so it's cool to hear that you watched and enjoyed it.
