Anti-crepuscular rays seen on Feb 26th 2008 from Maghera, N. Ireland by Martin Mc Kenna. These appear at the anti-solar point and are much more rare than the typical crep rays which can be seen at the sunset point.

  • They are not very rare but it's rare that people see them because observers don't think to look opposite the Sun to look for them. Same situation as a Sun halo. Most people naturaly don't look at the Sun and miss these too.

  • Thanks supercellstorm. This is only the 2nd time in which I have seen this phenomena. Pity about the compression on the clip. The rays are more obvious on the high res footage.

  • Very weird Martin! Are they rare?

  • Woow this phenomenon is amazing, I have seen once but hardly appreciated when video film, video or friend, is even accompanied by photographs!
