http://www.streetfire.net Dubbed Project P.U.M.A. (Personal Urban Mobility and Accessibility), GM and Segway are developing an electrically powered, two-seat prototype vehicle that has only two wheels. It could allow people to travel around cities more quickly, safely, quietly and cleanly - and at a lower total cost. Cities around the world are actively looking for solutions to alleviate congestion and pollution. Project P.U.M.A. combines several technologies demonstrated by GM and Segway, including electric drive and batteries; dynamic stabilization (two-wheel balancing); all-electronic acceleration, steering and braking; vehicle-to-vehicle communications; and autonomous driving and parking.

  • what happens when you get cold? lol or if its raining

  • well bicycles only go 10-14 mph and you can't carry much. we need the chinese and indians to use these and why shouldn't we SELL them and help our economy? Jeez, no wonder this country has been on a crash course for decades.

  • haha

my comment was going to be "this is why GM is going out of business" but your comment is 100x better!!!!!!!!!!! very good job emforty

  • The more I look at this early prototype PUMA based on its URBAN application, the better I think the idea actually is.

The average car only has one occupant at any given time. You can park 6 PUMAs in the space of ONE regular car and get 2 PUMAs side by side in each car lane putting a HUGE dent in congestion commute times, fuel use & pollution.

It can go 35 miles at 35-mph for only $0.35 cents!

This may be the answer once this early prototype is "fleshed-out" with full body, doors, etc.

  • so i guess safety bumpers & air bags are exempt from this death trap huh ??

  • Fuck everyone who has commented on this video!!!! Including myself!!!

  • damn, that thing roars! Got to love the exhaust at 2:30! Haha...

  • Did anyone else notice the wheelie bars at 1:55?

  • What's this thing's top speed, 15, maybe 20?
