Michigan State vs. Michigan 2007 & 2008

In Dantonio's first year at Michigan State, the result in the biggest game of the season was a loss. It had been the sixth straight loss to the Michigan Football Program. In 2008, things needed to change. And they did.

@TUdaToken exactly...that 10 year stretch from '69-'79 was the most intense time of any rivalry...and yeah ur right we both cant predict the future right? i gave my 2 cents and so did yourself...i cant wait to see how it all plays out...however, next year i think michigan will have the edge because their secondary will improve and kirk will be gone...but if worthy stays and the msu running backs put on a show, it could go the other way...i think itll be a great game

@hailtothevictorsUofM doubt it, the Rich Rod effect will effect UofM still in the next couple years, not saying State will win next year, I don't even think State will beat UofM next year because of the strong recruiting and how well Dantonio and his staff develops his 2-3 star recruits, the rivarly will be even for a while, it's gonna be like the 10 year War you guys had in the 70's with OSU

michigan football during the rich-rod era was the worst 3-year stretch for the program...state took great advantage of it and even this year in hoke's first season...but we all know state probably will not win for a few years losing a few key players after this season

so good to know an entire senior class of Michigan State Spartans can walk the streets of this State for the rest of their lives and knowing they never lost to Michigan, sure it was nice of UofM to have a bad Coach in Rich Rod, but what about all those years we had, Muddy Waters, Bobby Williams and John L. Smith, we are Little Brother no more

Not as much changed with State's program as our (Michigan's) program...we ALL saw that haha...I love the rivalry and I hope it can be better these next few years with Hoke taking charge
