Detroit police raid wrong house kill child.flv

Oops! I should know better than to believe the first media reports. Turns out, the cops didn't raid the wrong house. Their search warrant included both halves of the duplex. This family was harboring a suspected murderer. Aiyana's aunt Krystal Sanders said the suspect is her boyfriend. When the cops conducted the raid, Granny fought with them.

Update: Chauncey Owens (fiance of Aiyana's aunt Krystal Sanders) is serving 28 years for the murder of 17-year-old Je'Rean Blake who allegedly made a dirty look at Owens. Owens was given an additional two years for use of a gun in the commission of a felony. This light sentence was given in exchange for Owens' testimony that Aiyana's father Charles Jones was his accomplice and provided the gun used to murder Blake. Aiyana's death occurred during the apprehension of her father, after he allegedly bragged about the murder of Blake.

Shortly after the murder, Charles Jones allegedly approached some teenagers at Eastland Mall, and threatened them with a weapon for wearing T-shirts in memory of Je'Rean Blake.

I don't know if the cops did everything perfectly by the book. I'd be surprised if they did. But the bulk of the responsibility for Aiyana Jones' death lies with the family who put this innocent child in harm's way.

@omghalowars1 They went into the correct house, & apprehended the correct suspect. He bragged about murdering a child. How can you defend that? His neighbors who normally live under a code of silence were so shocked & disgusted by his crime, they turned him in to the cops. There is no defense for his actions. He murdered a child & bragged about it. Then he hid behind another child in his attempt to avoid paying for his crime. He used that little girl as an unwilling & unknowing human shield.
