  • Alot of people find Paul Washer's sermons to be harsh and blunt. However, I'd rather be told the truth any day even though it hurts now, rather than be told lies that make me feel good but is leading my soul to destruction. The truth hurts. When Jesus spoke, it enraged the Pharisees. Someone asked where is the love in his speech? The love is in speaking the truth. I don't want to hear things that just tickle my ears. Give me the truth even though it hurts.

  • @reallycoolman2003 If you notice he asks the congregation to go to Prayer with Him, then He prays not with the pronoun "We" but "I" because the words that follow he does not contribute to those who are assembled. Walsher speaks a message of humility yet he believes he is saved by grace yet others are pretenders. He looks at these believers by grace and rebukes them as if he's speaking to an unbelieving and unfaith followers.

  • Many Youth groups and well basically everyone needs to hear this. :(

  • @denoinwa I dont hear him talking about fear and suffering too much, mostly the difference between a "flu shot" conversion, as he put it, and a true conversion. Plus Jesus' told his disciples that because of him they would suffer a lot and be persecuted constantly.

  • Who is this preacher?

  • This is absolutely fantastic, and I love this man's passion for Christ.

  • @denoinwa I just believe its wrong for us to use secular music, prize give-aways, and loud music with fancy lighting to attract people to a church and then to simply get them to pray a prayer and pronounce them saved. The whole "repeat this prayer" thing is unBiblical.

  • @ I'm talking about skeptics generalizing "worldly things" as anything positive related to the gospel where the blessings of walking with God are emphasized. The work of the Holy Spirit is BOTH attracting people to Christ AND the warning of what life without God will bring. BOTH. An inordinant emphasis on FEAR, SUFFERING and the HARD, NARROW path is JUST AS FLESHLY, if not more.

  • Jesus reveals in the parable of the sower that salvation has as much to do with the heart into which the seed of the gospel is sown as it does with the message. Understanding is a factor, but so is commitment and perserverance. If someone "falls away," it is NOT necessarily related to the message taught OR whether God was involved in the first place. This parable flies in the face of hyper-election theology.

  • @denoinwa I'm talking about churches using "worldly things" to attract people and then reducing the gospel to nothing more than a santa clause in order to get people to pray a prayer. Carnal actually means worldly such as the desires of the human flesh.

  • @cwaughtech "Carnal means" is a loaded phrase that could mean anything. It could just as easily mean threatening people with hell so as to inspire a decision by fear. Fear is possibly no less carnal than the promise of blessing. When Jesus approached the woman at the well, He promised spiritual abundance. Its time to stop impugning the motives of people preaching Christ crucified.

  • @denoinwa Well in a sense yes. Because some preachers end up preaching people out of the Kingdom because they literally force works upon men. However, the truth is what saves and we need to understand that salvation is a work of God through faith. We need to stop using carnal means to attract people and getting men to repeat a prayer to assure them salvation because its unBiblical.
