What happens if you put/connect a glass of water next to the tesla c. and tune the frequency? Maybe it also get positively ionized.

Normal water does get ionised due to the HV environmnet and high level of ozone. I am not sure good or bad. But so does just about anything nearby.

Thank you - I did and there is no reaction on compass. I also made small induction coil - inside secondary 1,000 turns #40, outside primary 200 turns, Bedini style welding rod core - pulsing 12v,24v, HV from ignition coil. Primary does transmit electric to secondary - same value, but does not increase voltage. When pulsed with direct 12Vdc (with current)- it does produce 108V which is normal.

I think that the radiant energy that is picked up by the coils actually comes from only the spark gap. It would be interesting to change the spark gap to the EV Gray Tube. See how much energy you can capture with that and return that to the circuit in some way or just recharge a separate set of batteries.

Do you know if pulling electrons from water with the HV env. costs energy?

Pulling electrons increases the atomic energy level, normally this increase in energy is less than the energy it did cost to pull the electrons. If this can be free, Meyer's hydrogen fracturing can work by pulling 4 electrons from oxygen.

yes tesla talked of this when he was demonstating the induction coils,he talks of the effects of a electrostatic nature, not magnetic, he showed this with geisller tubes lighting up with the high voltage and not magnetic fields yes and like you said the highfrequency makes effects like that,everyone should look up nikola teslas book, "research,writing, of nikola tesla" by commford martin, nikola tesla showed this effect like 100 yrs ago!! hey this looks like my one wire tesla transmission wire!

The needles will probably stop moving when the AC frequency is somewhere between 50 and 100 Hz.

In general terms, nearly everything has a "frequency domain response" and a "time domain response." The compass needles are mechanical "low pass filters" and respond to low frequencies and filter out high frequencies and don't respond.

Just about all electrical circuits are some form of electrical low-pass, band-pass, or high-pass filter. They all have frequency-domain and time-domain responses.

Hi Aromaz, One of the persons in your forum correctly pointed out that the compass needles don't move because the AC magnetic field is too high in frequency for the needles to respond.

Here is a thought experiment: You start off with a 0.5 Hz AC current and you see the needles responding. As you slowly increase the frequency you see the needles responding but the needle swing angle starts to decrease as the frequency increases until they eventually stop moving at all.

I think one of the things Bedini suggests is to wrap a coil around the compass. You might try that to see if there is any deflection in the compass.
