Battle Frontier-Battle Palace(Gold)

Me battling the Palace Maven Spenser for the Gold Spirits Symbol. I randomly chose my team. He has

Arcanine@White Herb
Extremespeed, Overheat, Protect, Roar

Slaking@Scope Lens
Earthquake, Hyper Beam, Shadow Ball, Yawn

Suicune@King's Rock
Bite, Blizzard, Calm Mind, Surf

In my opinion, the Battle Palace is the worst, and the most pointless thing at the Battle Frontier. You cannot build your team with the natures that benefit your pokemon's stats, and you cannot tell your pokemon what moves to use meaning that you cannot use the full potential of your pokemon. So, in order to have an edge here, you might even need to build a completely different team. The first thing that would come to mind is sweeping with an aggressive nature, but your pokemon won't use the right move often. Stat boosters aren't good all the time because sometimes, your pokemon just keeps using those, and doesn't attack. The same goes for status inflicters. So, the strategy is to keep sweeping, and hope that your opponent's pokemon will use the wrong move more than your pokemon.

Arcanine will shuffle through Extremespeed, Protect, and Roar most of the time, and use Overheat a few turns after the battle start. So, just watch out for Roar, and finish it off with a decent, Water/Ground/Rock attack.

Slaking won't be very hard, but I think you should switch pokemon when it uses Yawn unless you have a Chesto, or Lum Berry. Use a Fighting move, or other special attacks to kill it.

Suicune's pretty good. It might use Calm Mind a few times, so it's important to attack the first few turns if you are trying to kill it with an Electric, or Grass attack. Otherwise, if you are using a physical attacker, you should use some stat boosters if you have them.

Spenser is pretty fun. It ended with a 10minute battle between our Suicunes (I kid you not!). Toxic FTW!
