  • Great advice. I have a 16 yr old Arab mare who I have been riding for 6 years. She can be soft and supple at a walk and trot but is like trying to turn or stop a freight train at a gallop. Only 1/2 as bad at a slow lope. I am using a Hank bit and german martingale on her to tune her up, ususally use a mild curb. Do you have any other suggestions. The tough turns. super reluctant stops and head shaking have gotten worse this year. Possibly because she had most of it off due to foaling.

  • @cornye2993 I will be putting a video that might help you , not sure when but in the next couple of weeks. First thing I think of is have had her teeth checked.

  • thanks on both counts, I often get flack about my dogs . Well the horse's get use to them.LOL

  • My horses know that whoa really means back up.. But like everything I dont over do it.. so when I dont want them to go into a back I just stop riding

  • Glad you like the jacket,, plus glad you like the video. Remember always try to think of the best that happened and not the worse.
