Eternal Kuvempu's Kannada Song - ಯಾವ ಕಾಲದ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರವೇನೋ!

This wonderful, awakening poem 'Yava Kalada Shasthraveno' is written by the legendary Kannada poet Dr.K.V. Puttappa(Kuvempu).

The song is picked from his famous collection 'Manuja Matha Vishwa Patha' (One world, one cast, one path). Kuvempu spreads the wonderful message of universal humanism among people.

This poem in particular gives a call to mankind to denounce all age old blind beliefs and practices and adopt a more rational thinking hat driven by self awareness and self belief. It spreads the simple message of looking for answers to problems within oneself through smart rational thinking rather than searching some unrelavant, superstitious old scriptures.

Poet Dr. K. V. Puttappa (Kuvempu) is notably the greatest poet of 20th century Kannada literature. He was also a great writer, playwright. He has penned over 70 collections of poems, plays, novels each of which is a joy to read. Many of his works convey a profound social message applicable at all times. The epic 'Sri Ramayana Darshanam', his famous rewriting of the great ancient Indian epic Ramayana in modern Kannada won him the prestigious 'Jnanapeeth Award'. Living in the heart of western ghats at his house in Kuppali, Shimoga Dist, Karnataka it is said nature had considerable influence on many of his famous poems and writings.
