Richardson lost because he missed all of his dunks in the last round. Fred Jones got screwed though because on his last dunk attempt, he gave it to his friend in the crowd, who threw a bad pass, and the ball went in the hoop and the judges called it a layup and that was counted as his dunk. Very weak dunk contest.

Yes I agree that J-Rich should had won, but Fred Jones??? Come on. What the hell. Fred's simple dunk is NOTHING and easy. I believe it was robbed. It should be Richardson! smh.....

Jason Richardson did not win this dunk contest you moronic haters.
In the finals aka the second round, both had to have 2 dunks. Jason had about 10 embarassing misses and finally nailed a 360 that he has already done many times. whack. Then he MISSED his last dunk. MISSED dunk, understand?
Fred Jones had a lob 360 where he caught it with 1 hand. One of the sickest 360s ever. And then he missed his last dunk a few times but it still counted when he the ball tipped in.
Richardson LOST.

I remember watching this dunk contest live, and witnessing some of the greatest dunk-contest dunks of all-time by J-Rich. Fred Jones had some nice dunks during this competition, but his best dunk wasn't as good as J-Rich's worst. This should have been the contest that put J-Rich in elite company of three-time winners, which at the time would have been a group comprising only himself.
