The french speaking part of the Belgians elected Jacques Brel as being the greatest Belgian off all times.
The flemish speaking Belgians I was one of them elected him in 7th place, still before Rubens and any of their kings ...

I'd always interpreted this as a cheating partner making outrageous promises to keep someone by his side, b/c notice he never specifically says, stay b/c i love you, or stay and i will love you. still...it always makes me swoon...

For a melancholy love song. I'm still uncertain as to the meaning behind that line too!!!
Still a very beautiful song.

He is so sweaty partly because he used to put all he had in his concert and was so shy in public. (it is know that he ALWAYS threw up before performing. And when he had a pause before coming back to sing, he threw up AGAIN!) But it's not all. What most people forget, is that spotlights are VERY warm. Particulary the old ones. And there werenot as many produce nor as good against sweat then as there is now... Plus this kind of 'beauty produce' tended to be used more by women.
