I don't think I have heard of the Galaxy 949 but I have done alot of traveling and I have used more than a few CB's the Cobra is known be one of the best performer's.

I looked up your Galaxy 949 it looks like a very good CB model but I've never used it, does it operator well? I notice it has ssb thats a good sign of a good CB.

@politicalrage It has upper and lower side bands and several other adjustments. It is a pretty good CB which comes in very helpful for avoiding traffic jams on the eastern seaboard. It is actually a DX949.
